I have the engine out of my 68 do I go ahead and fill the trim holes and the couple of dents i missed or put the new engine in and not repaint the bug and just drive it

I think if you put the new engine in and dont fix the dents and such then you are going to kick yourself later for not fixing it when you had the time.

If your doing a color change you could paint the engine compartment, put the engine in and then do the dents and holes. :Drink Beer:

That was the original plan, maybe I'm just trying to talk myself out of doing the work. Dont Know
