| Hi - We were talking about this at the meeting on Friday. I know some of you have installed oil temp gauges, but this is quick, easy, and relatively cheap. It combines the same wiring and light as the oil pressure sensor, basically expanding the use of the existing idiot light. I've been using one of these for about 6 months - pretty brainless insurance. And, if you pop the hood and look at it occasionally after driving different trip distances, you can get an idea what your normal oil temp is in different driving conditions based on how far the electric connector on the top of the dipstick has moved around. Here's a link to an article about it. http://www.vwtrendsweb.com/tech/0104vwt_bergs_temperature_dipstick/index.html Thanks, John |
