| I've bought a single EMPI 40 HPMX to put on my 1776 Baja and was wondering if anyone on the forum has experence tuning these. It's the newer model HPMX that was pre-run and adjusted, but I know it will need fine tuning and jetting.I'm about 100 miles East of Dallas so the closer the better. Anybody ??? Thanx,GonzoTx ! |

| I've got a progressive weber stashed in my parts for my bus. I need to get it ready. How much difference is there between them?
I'm going to get a weber book. • ~ • ~ • ~ • ~ • ~ • ~ • ~ • ~ • ~ • ~ • ~ • ~ • ~ • ~ • ~ • Cell # 903.456.0192

| These are a Weber IDF copy, like the dual carbs most hotrod VW have, execpt I have a center mount single. I'm gonna try to get some pix up in the next few days. I hear those progressives are great IF you ever get them dialed in. I've never tryed one myself. My fav bug carbs were an OLD pair of Holley 2 barrel carbs I got at the Bug-In swap meet back in '82 (and they were OLD then !) for $50. My 1835 Ghia would scoot with them on it,and I knew how to tune them 'cuz they were like half a Holley 4 bbl. . I put the motor in a Baja in '84 with a stock carb and then GAVE THE HOLLEYS AWAY when I sold the car !!!!!!! The only other Holley set-up I've ever seen is in the "How to Hotrod Your VW " Book. I tryed to buy them back when I got my latest Baja, and the dude said he sold them to a collector in Cali for $800. You just never know ... |
