I have a 1958 bug and I haven't been able to find a replacement gas tank to buy for it so I am restoring my old tank. I took it up to a radiator shop so they can boil it out and reseal it.

The gasket on the cap was shot. I went to home depot and found a flush valve gasket for a toilet in the pluming section. It fit perfectly!

what good luck!
