Hi All - I wanted to pass along a word of thanks and appreciation to one of our site mentors - Billy Dobbs aka LowFatBug... I recently asked Billy to perform some essential "keep it on the road" structural repairs to my bug. Not only did he work with me to find an affordable mid-term solution to a problem that would be quite costly for a long-term fix, he listened closely to the issue I was having and genuinely tried to solve the problem within my limited budget. Additionally, I had a engine failure on the way out to his shop (vdubhobbyshop) and he offered to help tow mw to his shop (I was already in New Hope - marginally) and took the time to come out and meet me on the road, diagnose the problem, and get the car running enough so I could limp into his shop and we could fix the problem. So, in addition to how welcoming everyone on this site has been to a newbie "dubber" , I wanted to personally thank Billy for his help and thoughtfulness. There has been some crap about Billy on a few "other sites" that I wanted to put a set of good press out about his services and helpfullness. Thanks again Billy! Now - lunch is over and I need to get back to work! JD3 Search keywords: Billy Dobbs , vdubhobbyshop , lowfatbug

Thanks, I will be the first to admit that I'm not fast and I take more time to make sure what I do is right when I'm finished with it. I have made a few people upset because I wasn't "finished in a timely fashion" but when they did get it back they have always been very happy with my completed work. it takes time to do it right and some don't understand that. I do this because I love these cars and take great pride in what I do and I do not beleive in doing stuff that doen't need to be done (if it ain't broke don't fix it) and I stand behind the work that I do. I'm more than happy show anyone how to do something if they want to learn how to do it.

I have to say the same about Billy. He has always been the first to step in to help anyone, even when not asked. I have learned a lot from him. Billy is also willing to teach you something, if you are willing to listen. If Billy ever needs help from me....Im there man.
