| | we are having a hard time determining the cars original color.... I think it was white originally and my dad thinks it was red. Can you tell by the Vin? the vin is: 159139*** its a 1969 bug. |

| | vin won't tell you. there may be a paper sticker under the hood that will tell you. or find a place that is hard to paint/repaint (spots under the hood in dash area, under the tar board in engine compartment) |

| I removed the last numbers of your vin, not good to post those to public.
The M plate in the trunk would have more info on that. The vin just shows model, production date, & number of vehicle. Here is a color / number chart from TS http://www.thesamba.com/vw/archives/info/paintcodestype1.php
I've seen white on several bugs, like a primer. The super that's here now has white, with green over it. You should be able to tell by looking at the back of the dash, behind the door panels, behind the engine compartment insulation, under the edges of the fuel tank. There's more places, but you should get the idea. |
