well I hate to do this but...... I may have been defeated in my battle to remove the rear wheel bearings and replace them with new ones..... I have tried and tried to get them out and have continually failed. I live in Dallas near Kellers drive in. Anyone know how to get them out and not mind lending me a hand? I have all the parts..... I think.

Send Billy(LowFatBug) a PM. I'm sure he could give you a couple pointers over the phone to get you through it. Do you have a book? If not, I cand lend you one if it'll help.

ha yeah I know Billy.... Hes probably got 10,000 wheel bearings out there too! Ive got a hook but there's noting to hook on to. My grandpa used to be in the auto repair industry he cave me (he made it) a tool that screws into the bearing and then has a slide hammer mechanism on it...... that got the bearing halfway off...... but then it decided to move no more.

man... I just want to cruise in this thing!

Do you have a gear puller, something like this one?

If you have I can come by one afternoon after work. PM me your address.
I'll bring my bentely. Cool

Here is a scan from my bentely. They show it being done in a vise, wouldn't be much different still on car.

I went up to auto zone and pep boys to search their tools... I found one kind of a puller (bought it and returned it) but it didn't fit. someone suggested removing the bolts that hold the spring plate to the axle and then hammering the end of of the shock mount to loosen it..... I started to do this but decided against it.... no sure how much pressure is on that spring plate.

I'm thinking I might have to put the wheels back on it and load it on a trailer and take it to a shop..
