Saturday my bud that live behind me called me up around noon, said he was headed over with his track loader to work on my pond that had busted out and filled in. So we worked on that till 6 pm.
Looks like we have a couple more days work to get it wipped back into shape.

Most of my recent weekends have involved replacing the interior of my boat. I have not had it in the water in over 5 years, it sat under a tree with no cover for about threee of those years. I had to replace the floor studs, decking, carpet, and recover everything.

I know its not the weekend but.......I started the boat for the first time in 5 years last night, got most of the upholstry back and now I need to get the alt. rebuilt.......Going for the first ride in it in over 5 years this saturday.......pics to come then.

Saturday, I serviced and changed water hoses my wifes suburban.

Drafted the kids to help me clean out the barn Sat. Got to get my bug stuff strighten up so I can find all my goodies.

No' Its not on backward but it don't feel good. In addition to the torn rotator cuff he had to remove a few bone spurs in the shoulder also. The Dr. said I would be down for 6 weeks or so. So I guess the wagen is back on the back burner. And no BEER untill I'm off the antibiotics..damn the bad luck...

Well, it's not the weekend but I finally got my garage half way clean and straight ........Took me more than a week but it is a little hard to sweep and all with one arm and you let it turn into a complete mess.






and just for certain bus lovers out there, look close at my locker doors, my other half says thats all the bus I can have I think that one is for a bay but I do have the larger one for a split...at least I think thats what its for...

good thing I did I got rid of to many parts....Can anyone tell me if a 6 volt fan and backing plate is the same as a 12 volt? And does anybody have a set of stock valve covers cheap????

If I remember right... The 12 v fans are a few mm deeper than 6v. I used the backing plate off my 1200 on my 1600 when I changed it out.

Shop looks good man. Don't over do it with that bad wing.

I'll look in the barn to see if I have set of stock valve covers.

Saturday I picked up a '91 Toyota 4X4, 4 runner for my future daily driver.
Needs some engine work. Suppose to be only a leaking head gasket. Body is in great shape, paint needs to be buffed out. Interior is good also, a couple cracks in the dash. Tint on windows will need to be redone. But it's a sweet truck, I've been wanting one for years.


Oh yea,

Jerry, I do have a set of stock valve covers... I'll bring them up the 8th.

just got back today from Ft. Leonard Wood Mo. stepson graduated army basic training thursday. he starts his ait in the morning. the boy actually says he was having fun in boot camp!

Late Sunday I got the 4 runner off the trailer. Checked the oil and water levels, changed out the battery. Started it and ran it for a while. It has a exhaust leak, either from a gasket or cracked manifold?? I'll see about the head leaking later.

Monday after work I drained the oil and water.... No mixing of the two. Has to be the exhaust they were talking about. I found several vacuum hoses either off or on wrong. Will need to reset the timing once I have the new exhaust gaskets on.

Tuesday I started disconnecting an old security system it has, (Company that made it no longer around).
Had to pull out the back carpet because they stored some engine parts or something that leaked oil everywhere. Had that nasty old tranny / rearend oil smell to it.

Got the toy ready for some road testing, going to run some 93 octane and fuel injector through it this week.

Well I'm still just looking pretty.....But I did put new shoes on my pick-up today...Hopefully these will last longer than the last 2 sets...General tires SUCK...17k and worn out..

Today I spent the day working on the 4 Runner, replacing all the exhaust gaskets. The exhaust manifold wasn't tight enough and a lot of the gaskets were no good.
Also converted the auto locking front hubs to manual.
I'm too tired to take it out for a test drive.

We went and got the other half another car...I gave in and let her get a sports car convertible, BUT I get to get another project....Hers is a Mazda Miata mine if all goes correctly a 62 Chevy short wide bed....Oh and went to my aunts house for early thanksgiving...Going to Waco for thanksgiving....

Watched the tree limbs moving from the high winds that came in.

Saturday I worked on the 4R, had to do a helicoil on the #1 spark plug.

Then went and worked on the bay.

Sunday I replaced a couple of bolts with longer ones on stripped out exhaust threads
Put on the fan shroud. Painted the rims back silver like they are suppose to be.
Put on the seat covers my daughter gave me for x mas.

Then I went and worked on the bay.

I was off from work Monday so I took my daughter out in the 4R and let her drive a stick shift on the roads for the first time.
She did okay for her third time to drive one period.

I raked up and bagged 21 f*cking bags of leaves and pine needles. Big f*cking bags. And swore over some non running VWs.
