I was stopped at the car show last night by a guy I later found out was my neighbor. He told me he had a few VW's and he was going to start selling off a couple. He had this Ghia in his barn. He said he has all the papers and are in his name. I heard the car turn over, but the fuel smelled like it was starting to turn. It didn't start, but did turn over. Has some rust but seems like it was pretty solid. I'm not sure what year it is. He's asking $2500.

The Bay Project

Started looking over the bay this afternoon to see just what I had gotten myself into...

The pop up is from the '70 bay, I just need to replace the rotted out wood and put it on.

It reminds me of the black bug I had... Looks damn good from 20 feet away!

This one is more like 40 feet

Hey look, it has H4's

Looking around the bus at some rust spots that will need attention soon.

Hi -

I am thinking when the weather cools off I may make a stab at repairing many of the hidden but ugly rusty areas my vert. Looks like body off will be required given the rust locations.

The entire set of heater channels, the frame head bottom, the front bulkead/"firewall", repair/replace the napoleon's hat, rear bottom area and support on each side of back seat and where the body bolts to the pan, the supports that go back to the rear bumper.

Lots of fun for a (hopefully) ...

I found a new ride. I really had my heart set on a nice Baja, but it just wasn't in the cards. I call her spot and she has: New tires and wheels, new pan, new 1600dp and a new transaxle. I bought it with every intention of hacking it up and making it into the baja that I always wanted. Well, plans changed... after doing some cleaning on the body and driving ...

Just finished replacing the running boards and there was some body work to be done due to rust...go figure. I also added 1971 Texas plates. Also discovered why I wasn't getting any hot air through the vents. The hoses were'nt exactly connected. It should work MUCH better now.

Okay, a question. The transmission sounds like it might be low on fluid, but there is no leak. I get about 25 mph and it starts to whine a bit, then stops when I press on the clutch. Any ideas?
