and get out "VWThing For Complete Idiots" book says its a "trigger impulse coil" and is

connected to TDC marker relay. Do I need it cause I'll have to remove the

end of sparkplug wire to get it on it. And if getting it on is half as tight as

getting it off. I'm going need patience and K-Y. ...

I have a 1958 bug and I haven't been able to find a replacement gas tank to buy for it so I am restoring my old tank. I took it up to a radiator shop so they can boil it out and reseal it.

The gasket on the cap was shot. I went to home depot and found a flush valve gasket for a toilet in the pluming section. It fit perfectly!

     what good luck!

I decided I liked the look of no fenders in the rear of my baja. With no fenders I need to come up with a way to mount the tail lights. I have a pair of brake lights that are round with 2 mounting bolts sticking out the back..... Thought they would look cool mounted over the top of the tires. Then I started thinking some more and cam up with the idea of mounting ammunition boxes on each side and mount the light to the end of the box......... this would keep the wires safe, give me more storage ...

Hi all, I've been jonesin' for a VW for a few years now, and had a deal made for a '72 Bay Camper until the owner backed out on me. So what did I do? I bought the first VW related vehicle I could find within my budget . I just picked up a Sand Rail basket case Monday. I have looked through a few threads here and haven't seen much on buggies, so I just thought I would put out a feeler to see if y'all are ok with me posting my rail stuff here.

After some examination I found that I have this one on the backing plate originally:

The first one is about 16 bucks and the second one is about 70.

The $16 one is referred to as Brazilian and the $70 one is referred to as German.

Did I get the wrong one or is this some sort of cheaper alternative...... my guess is I got the wrong one ...

I need to run a new fuel line, my pan sat outside for 25 years with both ends of the line exposed, so I am assuming it is bad. I don't want to cut up my tunnel, can I snake a new line through the tunnel maybe put some rubber hose over it in various places to keep it from rubbing and tie it off on the ends, or should I just run it like the brake line down the passenger side of the tunnel?

PS - I just had fuel line as the title to this post. It wouldn't accept it, said it wasn't long enough...
